About
Some of my earliest memories are on the water. My grandpa and my dad would take me fishing — waking me up before sunrise, handing me a rod, and patiently teaching me how to cast. They showed me how to read the water, how to be still, how to wait. Those mornings meant everything to me. My grandpa passed away when I was seven, but the time we shared on the water never left me.
Years later, as an adult, I came across a box of his old fishing reels tucked away in storage. They were dusty, stiff, and some hadn't turned smoothly in decades. I sat down and cleaned each one — carefully disassembling, degreasing, and servicing them one by one. By the time I was done, every reel was smooth and fishable again.
Something clicked for me in that process. There's something deeply satisfying about taking a neglected reel and bringing it back to life — especially when you know the stories those reels carry. That's what started Reel Good Restoration in 2025.
Whether it's a modern spinning reel that needs a tune-up or a vintage baitcaster with sentimental value, I treat every reel with the same care I gave to my grandpa's. Because to someone, every reel matters.
My work

Heavy saltwater corrosion on drag and side plate. Full teardown, corrosion treatment, and restored to full working order.
Family heirloom spincasting reel. Cleaned and serviced with care to preserve the original finish and patina. Fully functional again.
Post-season saltwater clean. Full exterior detail, line roller service, drag stack wipe-down, and light re-lube of all moving parts.
Baitcaster full teardown — cleaned braking system, replaced worn drag washers, re-lubed all bearings and gears. Cast like new.
Vintage closed-face reel with seized spool and stuck pickup pin. Full disassembly, cleaning, part fabrication, and return to working condition.
